Since we are leaders and we want our future generations to enjoy a clean environment, we do our job being conscious of not altering the environment and protecting our natural resources.
That is why that both the Public-Private Committee of Clean Production and the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) have recognised Empresas Tecs for its concern to the environment.
One of the bases of Empresas Tecsa’s corporate philosophy is the respect for the environment.
In this respect, years ago the company implemented an Environmental Management System (SGA), a pioneer initiative in the area of construction, which resulted in a well-known Environmental Policy setting the basis for future actions.
In this context, Empresas Tecsa set the following objectives and principles:
| Objetives |
| |
Comply with the environmental legislation in all its works and, in the case of the constructions of Santiago, with the Clean Production of Construction Sector of Region Metropolitana Agreement. |
Minimise any significant negative environmental impact that new projects could cause. |
Prevent noise, soil, water, and air pollution. |
Reduce wastes and consumption of natural resources and energy. |
Incorporate the concept of minimisation of negative environmental impact to the acquisition of materials, in relation to the management, use, and end of the wastes generated by them. |
Educate and
train all the personnel in terms of clean production
and environment protection. |
Share the environmental experience by promoting the use of SGA in suppliers and contractors. |
Develop evaluation procedures in environmental performance and related indexes. |
| Principles |
| |
Sustainanbility: understood as the right of future generations to use and enjoy the environment and its natural resources. |
Responsibility: on any environmental impact its activity could cause. |
Prevention: understanding that the solution of environmental problems once produced is always more expensive and less efficient than their prevention. |
Gradual process: the application of new procedures in a gradual process expresses that environmental culture in our society is in develoment stage, so actions should be consistent with the other regulatory and productive agents. |
Continuous improvement: expresses the need to improve the internal management in relation to critical evaluation of obtained results and development of new mechanisms and instruments to provide stability and continuity to our environmental policy. |
